2. Supply Chain Management

GIP upholds the highest ethical and professional standards when dealing with suppliers and contractors. It is our objective to reduce environmental and social risks in our supply chain. The Group has in place the Group Purchasing Policy, Supplier Code of Conduct and Bribery, Gifts and Entertainment Policy to facilitate and communicate with our suppliers and contractors regarding their compliance with labor, health and safety, and environmental regulations.

(a) share our CSR policy and Supplier Code of Conduct with our suppliers and contractors, and encourage them to adopt sustainable initiatives aligned with these policies;

(b) ensure that our goods and services are procured from environmentally and socially responsible suppliers and contractors as far as practicable;

(c) identify supply chain risks by conducting due diligence, especially to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in any part of our supply chain;

(d) protect and empower workers throughout our supply chain by requiring supplier commitments that uphold the basic rights of workers as set out by local and international guidelines, and as clearly indicated in our Supplier Code of Conduct;

(e) adopt preventive measures that minimize any environmental impacts derived from supplier activities. We encourage our suppliers and contractors to use eco-efficient criteria, especially with respect to resources such as water, or non-renewable resources, and consider the entire life cycle, from the extraction of the raw materials, production, transportation, through to the management of end-of-life waste, and avoiding pollution;

(f) minimize hazardous substances generated from our products by engaging in discussions with equipment suppliers, requiring them to take industry level action on the reduction of hazardous substances; and

(g) monitor supplier performance and conduct performance reviews yearly, targeting major suppliers and contractors, and communicate unsatisfactory ratings for rectification and improvements.

3. Conflict Minerals Policy

As a good corporate citizen, GIPT shall bear its social responsibility, respect the human rights, pay close attention to conflict minerals issues continuously, and make efforts to examine its supply chain with diligence to assure the metals sources of, including but not limited to, tin (Sn), tantalum (Ta), tungsten (W), gold (Au), copper (Cu), cobalt (Co), lithium (Li), nickel (Ni), natural mica, and graphite (hereinafter referred to as “Conflict Minerals”) are not drifted from the mines of Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and its neighboring countries (hereinafter referred to as “Conflict Regions”) controlled by armed groups.

1. Not to purchase conflict minerals from mines in the Conflict Regions.

2. Request its suppliers to refuse to use Conflict Minerals from the Conflict Regions and present a signed letter of commitment to GIPT.

3. Request its suppliers to notify their upstream suppliers of such requirements.

4. Sustainable Carbon Reduction and Environmental Commitments

The Company actively responds to global green development trends, upholding the philosophy of “Green Marketing and Sustainable Operations,” and continuously promotes energy conservation, emission reduction, and green manufacturing. Through optimizing production processes, promoting renewable energy applications, and fulfilling environmental compliance responsibilities, we reduce greenhouse gas emissions and advance the enterprise’s low-carbon transformation. The Company remains steadfast in promoting green sustainable development, contributing to the realization of national carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.

  1. Emission Reduction Targets:
    (a) Short-term Targets: By 2025, the Company’s greenhouse gas emissions per unit of annual output value shall decrease by 3% compared to the 2024 baseline. By 2030, the Company’s greenhouse gas emissions shall decrease by 15% compared to the 2024 baseline.
    (b) Long-term Target: By 2050, the Company’s greenhouse gas emissions shall decrease by 30% compared to the 2024 baseline.

  2. Emission Reduction Measures:
    (a) Formulate emission reduction measures by identifying energy-saving opportunities, with a special focus on management measures to reduce unnecessary energy waste, such as: reducing equipment idling; rationally planning production schedules; and monitoring energy efficiency and energy consumption per unit of product, thereby reducing both per-unit and absolute greenhouse gas emissions.
    (b) Set relevant variables affecting energy use, determine economic operation parameters, and establish economic operation systems for major energy uses to ensure key equipment operates in an economical state. Strengthen equipment maintenance to reduce abnormal operations, improve operational efficiency, and reduce energy loss.
    (c) Construct distributed energy storage projects. Identify major energy uses and saving opportunities through analysis of production processes and energy consumption. Formulate targeted energy-saving measures, including: promoting energy-saving activities and reducing electricity usage (e.g., raising employee awareness, advocating for turning off lights when leaving, and establishing equipment start-stop regulations to reduce idling).
    (d) Implement necessary technical energy-saving measures for production and auxiliary facilities, such as: retrofitting major energy-consuming facilities like air compressors; replacing high-energy-consuming equipment with low-energy alternatives; and using energy-saving lighting and products.
    (e) Continuously conduct training for employees, especially those operating major energy-consuming facilities, ensuring they are familiar with economic operation systems and low-carbon operating modes to produce products in a low-carbon manner.
    (f) Based on the energy baseline, set overall corporate energy goals and departmental energy indicators, and conduct energy-saving performance assessments.
    (g) Conduct training on greenhouse gas quantification and reporting for suppliers, gradually requiring the establishment of science-based carbon targets, and strengthen supervision and management.
